Standard Channel


Channel consists of a flat web with two formed 90-degree sides that form a C-shape. Channel classified as Standard has an approximately 16-2/3% slope on the inner flange surface and can be used as framework or supports for machines, trailers, rail cars, bridges, and buildings.

Junior Channel


Channel consists of a flat web with two formed 90-degree sides that form a C-shape. Junior channel is generally lighter than Standard Channel. It is typically used to make stair stringers or other lightweight structures.

Miscellaneous Channel


Channel consists of a flat web with two formed 90-degree sides that form a C-shape. Miscellaneous Channel is any channel that is not a Junior Channel and does not meet the classification requirements of Standard Channel (the inside flange surfaces of American Standard channels have an approximately 16-2/3% slope).
